PLANET GRANDE PICTURES

Planet Grande Pictures was founded 25 years ago by Eamon Harrington and John Watkin. Specializing in documentary and unscripted programming, Planet Grande has produced hundreds of hours of content over the years, winning 7 Emmy Awards along the way among various other industry honors. Planet Grande's many clients include HBO, Showtime, CBS, ABC,NBC, Discovery, A&E, VH1, Disney, ESPN, Nickelodeon, CMT, Lifetime, and many others. 

Based in Malibu, CA, Planet Grande is currently producing two feature length documentaries - NOT CAROL, a film version of the podcast featured on this site, and JOHNNY STRANGE, a film celebrating the heroic life and tragic death of 23 year old wing suit BASE jumper Johnny Strange.

EAMON HARRINGTON

Eamon Harrington co-owns Planet Grande Pictures with John Watkin. Along with John, Eamon Executive Produces all of Planet Grande's Projects. Eamon is a hands-on Director who often shoots principal or second camera. Some of Eamon's favorite projects include Patrick Dempsey: Racing LeMans (Discovery), Breaking the News (CBS), Freshman Year (HBO), Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am (HBO), Small Town Secrets (CMT), and Shades of a Single Protein (ABC). Eamon is also a painter whose work hangs in hundreds of homes throughout the United States. His work is currently featured in the RED LADDER GALLERY in Malibu, CA.

A father of 4, Eamon is fascinated by Carol Coronado's tragic story of maternal mental illness, a condition he knew nothing about before beginning production on NOT CAROL. The more he's learned, the more dedicated he's become to shining a light on America's most under-reported national health epidemic. Eamon's wife Veronica Brady is producing The Postpartum Project for Planet Grande.

john watkin

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

35 year veteran TV producer/director/writer/creative professional, with over 150 projects produced for television. John Watkin is a winner of numerous industry awards including Peabody, Clio, and 7 Emmys. Co-owner of Planet Grande Pictures, based in Malibu CA. John is married with 5 children, British-born, and proud to be a citizen of both the UK and the United States. John is an editor, with AVID expertise and has edited or co-edited almost all our projects. He is a music editor and has acted as music consultant and music editor on all projects.

 

Guitarist specializing in blues, played as a session musician in London before moving to the US in 1987. Advertising, began Career in the UK producing award-winning radio commercials for local radio. After moving to the US, worked as Primary Copywriter and Radio Producer for FOX TV networks, winning numerous industry awards, including the Clio in 1991. 

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

veronica brady

Veronica Brady is a producer, director and archivist. Veronica has directed over 100 plays, founded three theatre companies, worked on countless television and film productions, unearthed highly specialized archival footage for documentaries, and received an Emmy as well as numerous Ovation and LA Weekly awards.

 

Her most recent projects include documentaries Love 99, Not Carol, Ethel (an Emmy-nominated/Television Critic Award-winning documentary produced for HBO), Tiny Shoulders: Rethinking Barbie (for Hulu and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival), Johnny Strange, Menendez Brothers (a 5-part series on A&E), Every Fifteen Minutes (a Telly Award-winning short film), Grandpa, Do You Know Who I Am? (an Emmy-winning and Television Critic Award-winning HBO documentary), and Patrick Dempsey: Racing Le Mans (a 5 episode series produced for Discovery/Velocity).
